Dr Waits graduated from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1999. His anaesthetic training was undertaken in the Nottingham & East Midlands training scheme, a highly competitive program well known for its excellent reputation. During his registrar years, he undertook time as a research fellow, developing an interest in Major Haemorrhage and Medical Education.

He was appointed as a Consultant to North Manchester General Hospital (part of Manchester Foundation Trust) in September 2010. His clinical work involves anaesthesia for a wide range of both adult and paediatric patients.

Dental Practice Sedation:

As an experience Consultant Anaesthetist with a specialist interest in Conscious Sedation, Dr Waits provides specialist anaesthetic based single and multi-drug sedation for the full range of simple and complex dental procedures, ensuring optimal care for the anxious patient or for complex surgery.

Postgraduate Roles – Served as Royal College of Anaesthetists College Tutor & Speciality Training Lead for Anaesthetics at North Manchester Hospital.

Undergraduate Tutor – Currently serving as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer for Lancaster Medical School. Previous terms served as an Honorary Senior Lecturer, University of Manchester Medical School.
