Having a gappy or overcrowded smile with crooked or protruding teeth can make you feel self-conscious, an issue that can affect confidence in several areas of your life.
If your teeth are misaligned, it can make it difficult to maintain good oral hygiene. Getting a toothbrush between crooked teeth to remove food debris and plaque isn’t easy, and over time, cavities can form.
How your teeth develop can also cause jaw pain, which could spread to the face, head, neck, and shoulders.
There are several ways to address these problems, including a range of fixed braces and removable aligners. At Hale Dental, we offer a range of orthodontic treatments led by Sophie Parker. Our team will thoroughly assess your smile and recommend the best treatments.
Six Month Smiles
For mild alignment issues, we may recommend Six Month Smiles. This fixed brace system is great for fixing your smile in a hurry. Traditional braces can often take around 18 months to achieve results, but, as the name suggests, the usual treatment time for Six Month Smile is just half a year.
Six Month Smiles uses clear brackets and wires fixed to your teeth. The constant slight tension of the wire gently pulls your teeth into position. Throughout your treatment, we’ll see you roughly once a month to make small adjustments to your brace.
This treatment is best used for straightening your most prominent teeth.
Fast Braces
Ordinary fixed braces take time to achieve results. While you’ll notice the crown of your teeth moving, the root also needs to move. This takes time.
Fast Braces use triangular brackets and square wires to speed up the process by simultaneously moving the crown and root. These tooth movements are quick and effective and can even reduce treatment to as few as three months to a year.
Inman Aligner
The Inman Aligner system provides fast orthodontic treatment focusing on the most visible teeth at the front of your mouth. This simple removable treatment option consists of Nickel Titanium coil springs powering two opposing aligner bows. The gentle push and pull on each side of the tooth guide your teeth into a more favourable position quicker than most other appliances.
Treatment lengths vary; however, in many cases, you’ll only wear the aligner for three months or less. We’ll see you every few weeks to check your straightening progress.
Before treatment, we’ll take impressions so the lab can make a custom aligner designed for your smile. During your treatment, you’ll need to wear the aligner for up to 20 hours a day. You can remove your aligner at mealtimes or for cleaning.
Inman Aligners are straightforward, effective, and convenient, providing quick results without impacting your life.
Lingual Braces
Where traditional fixed braces sit on the front of your teeth, lingual braces remain hidden behind the back. Lingual braces work like fixed braces, but they do the job from behind your smile, where nobody can see them.
Strong arch wires gently pull your teeth into their new position. Every few weeks, we’ll ask to see you to check your progress and adjust the wires.
The exact length of your treatment depends on the extent of the necessary movement. When we assess your smile ahead of treatment, we’ll have an idea of how long your treatment may take.
