Surgical Extraction
Tooth extractions are procedures to remove teeth that are damaged, decayed, or causing crowding. Surgical extractions are more complex and may involve cutting the gum or removing bone in order to extract a tooth. Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are often extracted surgically if they are impacted, growing at an angle, or causing pain or infection. These procedures are routinely performed under local anaesthetic or sedation within Hale Dental & Implant Clinic.
Our resident anaesthetist at Hale Dental Clinic is Adele Hughes, who is highly trained and experienced in all aspects of oral surgery and conscious sedation.
She moved to the North West in 2005 and gained her Bachelors of Dental Surgery from Liverpool University in 2015. Since then, Adele has worked in both primary and secondary care. She has a special interest in all aspects of oral surgery and conscious sedation.
With 10 years experience in both NHS and private practice, Adele currently completes treatment under local, general anaesthesia and conscious sedation.
Adele currently is involved in the training of recent graduates concerning both oral surgery and sedation.
Outside of work, she has a son who keeps her very busy. She also loves to spend any spare time anywhere in the sunshine or walking in the sometimes sunny Lake District.

Louise explained the process so clearly and helpfully throughout and was always available to clarify anything I needed to check.

Despite being the week before Christmas, they fitted me in at very short notice, everyone was extremely pleasant and professional, from Megan who called to arrange the appointment and welcomed me on site to Richard, the implantologist who explained everything clearly and succinctly. The icing on the cake was that he solved my problem despite the implant system being one he had never encountered previously. Delighted to recommend to any prospective clients. After receiving all my wedding photos I can’t thank Sophie enough for honestly giving me the most perfect smile. I couldn’t imagine having all these wedding photos of the most special day of my life with my old uneven teeth.
